Automotvie Soda Blasting Services
NZ SODA BLASTING can strip your car, motorcycle parts and panels: Clean off paint, rust, grease, body filler and other unwanted contaminants or paint. NZ SODA BLASTING uses the latest in blast media technology to ensure the best finish possible on each component of your car. NZ SODA BLASTING utilises two different types of blasting to ensure the best possible finish for your car, it’s the extra time and effort that NZ SODA BLASTING put in that ensures your car the superior result. That is just one of the factors separating NZ SODA BLASTING from traditional abrasive blasters, many of whom only spend a couple of hours with heavier abrasives to get your car in and out quickly and with little care towards the end result. Soda Blasting is safe on virtually any material, be it steel, chrome, glass, fibreglass, carbon fibre, some plastics, rubber, brass, copper, aluminium and much more. Soda BLast will not harm seals, bearings or gears making it safe to use on engines, gearboxes, diffs, suspension components, window and door mechanisms, anything you want cleaned that can’t be done using normal abrasive blasting or harsh chemicals. At NZ SODA BLASTING body panels are typically blasted with Soda. Interior parts are also blasted with Soda. Rust affected areas, under carriage and suspension components are blasted with a fine mineral abrasive at low pressure. When a heavier cutting action is required we use a slightly more coarse abrasive (still far finer than industrial blasters), and those areas are re-blasted with our finest abrasive to lessen the profile of the surface and remove impunities.
NZ SODA BLASTING uses Soda Blasting as our premium service. Giving you the best possible finish to your vehicle.
Unlike abrasive blast medias, soda residue will not harm any bearing faces or delicate surfaces, (Professional bearing test have found that bicarb soda has NO effect on bearings under load). Soda Blasting is non-sparking and does not create heat, which means it’s the only safe way to strip paint from old fuel tanks and containers. Ultimately due to the low-friction non heating and non abrasive properties of soda, the chance of panel warping are completely removed. Don’t worry, dueto the way soda strips the paint from your vehicle, it leaves the protective skin of the steel unbroken and therefore helps to protect the panels from rusting. (Note: if your panels have had a previous repair the protective coating on the steel will have already been broken and will need an undercoat.) After blasting, the media is blown and vacuumed from your vehicle before coating with either etch primer (1k or 2k), a special rust resistant coating or alternatively you are welcomed to supply your own paint and we will apply it for you immediately after your car has been blasted and cleaned off. We highly recommend speaking with your panel and paint professional before any under coating is carried out, just to make sure everything is compatible. NZ SODA BLASTING prides itself on a quality workmanship and finish. We are happy to work with you for the best possible result.
